Dispute over money leads to shooting on south side, police say

The bullet went through the victim's lower back and exited through his stomach.

SAN ANTONIO — A south-side man in his 60s was shot in the back over a dispute about money early Monday morning, according to police.

San Antonio Police officers responded to the 100 block of W Young Avenue near S Flores Street around 12:50 a.m. for reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a victim in his 60s who had been shot in his lower back, with the bullet exiting through his stomach. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

The victim told police he had been visiting friends at the south-side home on Young Avenue and was out front when someone he knew drove up in a black car. They began arguing over money and the suspect in the black car fired off multiple rounds, hitting the victim in his back.

The suspect then drove away before police arrived. No other details were provided by police.

The crime scene remains under investigation
