SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio man received a sentence of 40 years behind bars after entering a guilty plea in the murder of another man during a road-rage incident over two years ago.
On Wednesday, Judge Del Prado sentenced Martin Trevino for the murder of Timothy Sypher – according to a statement from the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney’s Office.
On June 25, 2022, Trevino shot Sypher during a road-rage altercation in downtown San Antonio. Sypher was struck in his hip and ultimately succumbed to his injuries two days later due to complications. San Antonio Police tracked Trevino down through evidence linking him to the crime.
“This irrational act took an innocent life,” said Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales. “Road-rage is a serious issue and there are grave consequences when you react aggressively while driving.”
