Man shot in the cheek while outside home on the east side, police say

Police at the scene said the shooting was prompted by an argument between the victim and suspects.

SAN ANTONIO — A man in his 50's was injured in a drive-by shooting outside a home on the east side Monday afternoon.

The incident happened in the 2400 block of Schley Avenue around 1:30 p.m.

Police at the scene said the shooting was prompted by an argument between the victim and suspect. They say the suspect left the location after that argument, then returned. Someone shot the man in the cheek from a maroon Ford Fusion.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but his injuries are not life-threatening.

No one has been arrested yet and police are trying to obtain surveillance video that can give more insight into the investigation.

This is a developing story and further details will be added as they are received.
