Head-on collision involving dump truck leaves one dead and another ejected from vehicle, officials say

According to police, a dump truck was traveling northbound on Highway 16 and lost control hitting a Chevy Silverado.

SAN ANTONIO — Two drivers were involved in a head-on crash Tuesday morning leaving one dead and another ejected from his vehicle, according to officials.

The incident took place at 8:11 a.m. on the northwest side near Highway 16 and Highway 211.

According to police, a dump truck was traveling northbound on Highway 16 and lost control while taking a left on Highway 211. This is when the dump truck hit a Chevy Silverado killing the driver inside, officials say.

The Medical Examiner has identified the deceased man as 35-year-old, Kevin Robles. 

The other man driving the dump truck was ejected and pinned by his own vehicle, according to police. Fire officials were able to pull the man out from under the dump truck and send him to the hospital. 

Officials say the man has sustained head injuries due to the crash.
