'It's probably going to hit me a little bit later' | Early morning fire on west side under investigation

"All your childhood memories in one house for about 21 years, and you see this horrific fire," said a neighbor who says the house was his childhood home.

SAN ANTONIO — An investigation is underway to try and figure out how a fire started in an empty home on the west side.

The call came in around 4:45 a.m. Friday morning for a fire on Stagecoach Lane near Highway 90.

The fire is still under investigation, but firefighters think it may have started in the attic.

Anthony Davis, a neighbor, says the burned house was his childhood home and is still processing the situation.

"All your childhood memories, you know, in one house for about 21 years and then you, and you see this horrific fire. Yeah, it's probably going to hit me a little bit later," Davis said.

Anthony Davis says the original seller was renovating the house to sell again, adding that they were working on the electric wires this week.

No firefighters were injured but a neighboring house did get some damage from the flames.
