MARION COUNTY, Texas — A photo highlighting the power of change from an East Texas sheriff's office is going viral.

On Thursday, the Marion County Sheriff's Office posted a photo of two inmates being baptized by a local pastor.

"Baptize in muddy water clears the soul," the MCSO said. "Two trustees gave their heart to God. "

Prison and jail ministries have become more popular over the years including the Prison Ministry within The Catholic Diocese of Tyler.

"Prison Ministry strives to “go forth” with the joy of the Gospel and to be missionary disciples to the poor, especially the poor who are in need within the county jails and state prisons," the diocese said. "It is our belief that by bringing Christ to the incarcerated and their families, we can assist them to encounter the living Christ in their day to day activities, social life and the familial experiences that create their individual realities."
