Engine flies out of car in head-on crash on FM 78

Two drivers are lucky to be alive after a head-on collision in northeast Bexar County sent an engine sailing out of one of the cars.
Police said the cars hit so hard the engine from the man's Focus flew out of the car and caught fire.

Two drivers are lucky to be alive after a head-on collision in northeast Bexar County sent an engine sailing out of one of the cars.

The crash took place around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday at 4900 FM 78.

According to officials on scene, a man in his 30s was driving a white Ford Focus traveling east bound, when he drifted into the other lane.

The man crashed into a woman in her 30s. Both drivers suffered only minor injuries and were both transferred to SAMMC.

Alcohol was not a factor in this crash, said police.
