SAN ANTONIO — A new tour at the Alamo is giving visitors a close look at the weapons used by Alamo defenders.
"Weapons of the Alamo" will teach guests about the guns used by Davy Crockett and all of the historic figures who defended the mission during the siege of the Alamo.
Visitors will learn how to load a flintlock firearm, the location and size of the Alamo's cannons, and much more.
This is the first living history-based tour at the Alamo.
With living history, you have the additional benefit of being able to see the actual weaponry," history tour facilitator Jackson Green told KENS 5. "We decided it was time to do a tour that focused in on the guns that were used here, rather than the full history to emphasize the battle in 1836."
The tour will take place daily between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tickets cost $15.
