NEW BRAUNFELS -- Investigators are looking into what caused an explosion and fire early Tuesday morning at the CEMEX planton Wald Road.
A loud explosion followed by flames shooting out of the cement processing plant on was reported to firefighters around 2:40 a.m., said CEMEX spokeswoman Sara Engdahl.
Upon arriving, firefighters said they found only a small amount of fire burning in two of the plant's tall silos.
Firefighters used aerial trucks andcarriedhoses up flights of stairs to attack the fire.
Engdahl said no injuries were reported and no hazardous materials were involved in the blaze.
The New Braunfels Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the explosion and fire.
