'I still don't believe it' | Family searches for answers as it's been two weeks since daughter was found dead in ditch

The lack of answers has left Krystle Delgado's family in agony. Her mom, Norma Delgado, said it is hard for her to accept that she is longer here.

SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio mother was found dead in a ditch on the south side. More than two weeks later, the Bexar County Medical Examiner still hasn't said how she died.

The lack of answers has left Krystle Delgado's family in agony. Her mom, Norma Delgado, said it is hard for her to accept that she is longer here.

"I still don't believe it," she said. "Still think she is going to come in through these doors." I hear people walking by, and I am hoping that it is her."

She said on Christmas Eve, Krystle walked out the door and never returned.

"Now, we walk in these doors, there is no laughter," the mom said. "No nothing, just sadness. Nothing but sadness."

The mother of five's body was found right behind their home in a ditch off Pecan Valley Drive near South New Braunfels Avenue.

"I am going crazy breaking my mind just wondering what happened to my daughter," Norma said. "She didn't deserve to be there, just like that."

San Antonio police said they found Krystle lying in the ditch. At the time, the medical examiner said they did not find any apparent injuries.

"They can't do anything until the autopsy report comes back," she said. "My daughter has been calling and calling and still nothing."

The family believes someone out there knows what happened and they plea for them to come forward.

"Please, step up," she said. "Put yourself in our shoes, wouldn't you want to know?"

KENS 5 called the medical examiner twice, this week. The M.E. is still reporting there is no cause or manner of death. Meanwhile, SAPD said preliminary information states Krystle died of natural causes, saying the initial evidence by the M.E. shows there were no signs of foul play.

The family is currently raising funds for funeral expenses.
