SAN ANTONIO -- Araceli Rodriguez would be 23 if she were alive today. Instead, she was shot to death in her SUV in 2008. In thetwo years that have passed, the case has yet to yield an arrest.

In the time that has passed, Araceli's family has never given up hope that someone will eventually come forward with information on her killer. Now, a new sign on Highway 90 is drawing new attention to this case.

The sign, place on the right-of-way by Crime Stoppers, has a picture of Araceli and a phone number to call with information.

On August 23, 2008, 21-year-old Araceli Rodriguez was sitting in her SUV with friends outside of the Sal y Limon Ultra Lounge when a man approached the driver's side door.

Witnesses say the man tapped a gun on the window and then fired a shot as Araceli tried to drive away. The young woman was hit once in the torso. Shedied a short time later.

The only description of a possible suspect is a Hispanic man in his early 20s. Eyewitnesses say the man fired the shot and then ran into a neighborhood near Quintana Road and West Southcross Boulevard.

With the case going cold, family members are hoping the photo of Araceli will revive interest in the case and eventually lead to an arrest.
