Father dead after being shot multiple times following fight between two groups of teen girls

Police believe that two groups of girls have possibly been feuding for months until Tuesday night, when they reached the breaking point.

SAN ANTONIO — Two groups of teenage girls feuding on the west side leads to a man being fatally shot multiple times late Tuesday.

San Antonio Police responded to the 200 block of Moraima Street near Castroville Road around 9 p.m. for reports of a shooting in progress.

Officers arrived and found Gabriel Campos Gonzales, 54, with both multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to University Hospital in critical condition, where he died from his injuries.

Police believe that the girls have possibly been feuding for months until Tuesday night, when they reached the breaking point. SAPD says they believe the victim is the father of one of the girls involved. They also believe the suspected shooter is an aquaintance of one of the girls.

Neighbors reported hearing a loud argument taking place on the street before shots were fired. Both the altercation between the two groups of girls and the shooting were captured by security cameras in neighboring homes.

Police say the suspected shooter is on the run at this time. Officials did not provide a description of the suspect.

The crime scene remains under investigation.

This is a developing story.
