Fight between current and former partners leads to stabbing, police say

SAN ANTONIO — A fight between a woman's current and former partner leads to a stabbing on the northeast side of town early Tuesday morning, police say.

San Antonio Police responded to Newport Drive near Walzem Road just before 2:30 a.m. for reports of a disturbance. According to officers, a man showed up at his ex's house because he was told the new boyfriend had beat her, and an argument began between the two.

Officers say at some point the ex-boyfriend took a knife and stabbed the current boyfriend in the torso. He was taken to BAMC in critical condition.

Police detained the ex-boyfriend for questioning. No word on whether any charges were filed.
