Fight involving teen girls on west-side ends with one shot in buttocks, police say

The mother of the victim told officers that all of the girls go to school together.

SAN ANTONIO — A fight involving a group of teenage girls at a west-side Denny's ended with one shot in the buttocks, police say.

San Antonio Police responded to the Denny's located at Loop 410 and Culebra around 3:20 a.m. on Tuesday for reports of a fight with shots fired.

When officers arrived at the location, they found a 15-year-old victim had been shot once in the buttocks area. She was taken to University Hospital in non life-threatening condition.

Police say that another 15-year-old girl and her sister had organized some sort of fight with another group of juvenile girls.

That juvenile suspect arrived at the Denny's and tried to rob the 15-year-old victim, who is staying at a nearby hotel with her family. In the process of the attempted robbery, the suspect fired a few shots into the air, hitting the victim in her buttocks.

The suspect then drove away from the scene in white or gray Hyundai with three other juveniles.

The victim's mother told police that both girls go to the same high school.

Police believe they have found a social media post with information on the suspect, however the shooting remains under investigation.

This is a developing story.
