Fire causes around $40,000 in damage to northeast-side home

Officials say the fire was quickly knocked down and contained to the bedroom.

SAN ANTONIO — A northeast-side home now has around $40,000 in damages after an overnight fire, officials say.

Firefighters arrived at the 3200 block of Morning Creek at 12:53 a.m. to a house fire coming from a bedroom window.

The fire was quickly knocked down and was contained to the bedroom.

Authorities say the resident was home at the time and appeared to have a mental condition.

No injuries were reported but the damage to the home is estimated to be about $40,000.
