SAFD: Fire breaks out in construction zone on northeast side, workers escape unscathed

All construction workers were able to escape the flames without injury.

SAN ANTONIO — A fire started in a construction zone on the northeast side of the city Friday night, officials said.

Fire crews responded to a call on the 3200 block of NE Loop 410 near Perrin Beitel around 10:30 p.m.

Officials said fire crews used a ladder truck to put out the fire that appeared to be isolated to the bridge project that's still underway. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze after several minutes.

The construction workers were able to escape the flames without injury, fire officials said.

Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.

No other details were provided.
