Firefighters knock out fire at northeast-side Burger King

The damage was contained to the flue and the blower motor inside the restaurant.

SAN ANTONIO — Firefighters were able to quickly contain a fire at a northeast-side Burger King late Sunday night.

San Antonio firefighters were dispatched to the 6300 block of Rittiman Road for reports of a fire inside the fast food restaurant.

First responders were able to quickly extinguish the fire that was located inside the flue of the grill vent.

The damage was contained to the flue and the blower motor and there was no damage to the building itself.

A food inspector was called out to assess the damges. All employees were able to get out of the building and there were no injuries.

This is a developing story.
