SAN ANTONIO — An abandoned home on the west side is a total loss after an early morning fire, according to firefighters.
San Antonio firefighters responded to the 900 block of North Navidad Street, not far from North Zarzamora Street, around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday for reports of a fire.
Officials say when they arrived at the location, they found fire in the back interior of the home, which was abandoned. Firefighters believe the fire may have been started by unhoused San Antonians simply trying to stay warm.
This is not the first time firefighters have been called out to this home for a fire. They were able to extinguish this fire quickly, but the house is believed to be a total loss.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
This is a developing story.
