Shifting just 10% of your shopping dollars to local businesses can boost the economy significantly and help keep local businesses open and thriving.

SAN ANTONIO — Local businesses in San Antonio are hoping you have not spent all your holiday shopping dollars on Black Friday.

After the frenzy of Black Friday comes Small Business Saturday, which was created to encourage shoppers to give some love to small and local businesses during the busiest shopping time of the year.

This year, it falls on November 25 and is expected to be as big as ever. Shifting just 10% of your shopping dollars to local businesses can boost the economy significantly and help keep local businesses open and thriving, the city of San Antonio says.

Here in San Antonio, there are several ways you can celebrate Small Business Saturday and show your support for local businesses.

Head downtown!

The historic San Antonio downtown area is a great place to find many of the locally-run businesses in this city. From Market Square to La Villita to the Shops at River Center, there are plenty of opportunities to support local shops. You can even find local grocers to get your necessities.

Get the 'Buy Local Savings Pass'

The City of San Antonio is offering a local savings pass to allow local residents to unlock savings at different stores. All you have to do is sign up and receive a text and email with a link to your passport. Then, browse exclusive discounts and savings from participating locations and present your phone to the sales person at check out to receive the discount.
