SAN ANTONIO — Heavy rainfall Tuesday across the Hill Country has led to flooded roads and dangerous driving conditions.
The Kerr County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook that nearly every low water crossing was unsafe to cross. The area has received more than five estimated inches since early Tuesday morning, meteorologists say.
"We're not joking - almost every low water crossing in Kerr County is extremely hazardous right now. Turn around, don't drown. Chancing it puts our first responders and your wallet at stake. We can and do write hefty tickets for going around barricade," the sheriff's office said in the social media post.
The City of Kerrville posted dramatic video of Guadalupe River at high levels after the heavy rain.
The sheriff's office also posted a list of closed roads which include the following:
- FM 479 BROKEN SPUR
- STONELEIGH
- INDIAN CREEK
- UPPER TURTLE CREEK
- GOAT CREEK RD
- CADE LP/ RIO VISTA
- LOWER TURTLE CREEK
- KAREN/ ELIZABETH
