Three arrested after leading state troopers on chase that ended in crash in east San Antonio

Authorities said two of the suspects were caught quickly, but two others fled into different homes before they eventually surrendered.

SAN ANTONIO — Three young men were arrested after leading state troopers on a pursuit that ended in a crash and subsequent barricade situation on San Antonio's east side, authorities said.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), troopers tried to pull over an SUV for a traffic violation at the intersection of Rigsby and Roland at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday. They said the driver attempted to escape before crashing about five miles away, on Cody Street.

A man and woman inside car were detained at the scene of the crash, but two other male suspects ran toward one of their homes on Bee Street before locking themselves into separate houses. DPS said those two later surrendered without incident.

The three male occupants, all 19 years old, were arrested.

Darnell Drey Shawn Randle was charged with evading arrest and booked on a $10,000 bond. Joe-Isaac Lee Yanez had outstanding warrants for firearm theft, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct with a firearm stemming from incidents last week, and is being held on bonds totaling $220,000.

Curtis Ray Wilson Jr. had outstanding warrants for deadly conduct with a firearm and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon from a Thursday incident, and is being held on $200,000 in total bonds.

DPS said an investigation is underway.
