Fuel spill on Solms Road in New Braunfels expected to delay traffic for hours

SAN ANTONIO — A huge diesel fuel spill in New Braunfels on Monday is expected to cause delays for several hours.

The fuel spill was reported early Monday morning on Solms Road between the I-35 frontage road and FM 482. That section of Solms Road was closed to begin the clean-up process.

The New Braunfels Fire Department says 100 gallons of fuel spilled on the road after a mechanical failure with the truck. The spill has been contained and crews are using absorbent material to help clean up the spill.

The department is posting updates to its Facebook page.
