SAN ANTONIO — Three people got out of their home safely after a garage fire on the northeast side of town, firefighters say.
San Antonio firefighters responded to the 12000 block of Stoney Summit, near McAllister Park, just before 4 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
When they arrived, they found the garage on fire.
Officials say a mom and her nephew were both sleeping upstairs and the mom's adult son was sleeping downstairs. The son told firefighters that he heard a noise coming from the garage, and opened the door and saw fire in front of the vehicle parked inside.
He quickly got everyone out of the house.
Fire investigation is on the scene looking for the cause of the fire. Officials say the damage was contained to the garage, however there was smoke throughout the home.
No estimate of the was provided on the estimated damages caused by the fire.
No injuries were reported.
