A Gillespie County man put an end to a marital quarrel, once and for all.
Sheriff's deputies responding to a 911 call Monday at 1844 Reeh Rd. found 62-year-old Fermin (Juan) Gallegos sitting on his living room sofa with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head.
Near his left leg lay a Smith & Wesson 357 Magnum pistol.
Lying in front of Gallegos was his 52-year-old wife, Becky Jill Gallegos. Deputies say she had been shot twice in the chest.
The third victim in the shooting was the family dog. He was lying next to Fermin Gallegos, shot dead.
Gillespie County Justice of the Peace Carl Schoessow pronounced Becky Gallegos dead at the scene. Fermin Gallegos was airlifted to University Hospital where he died at 6:36 p.m. Monday.
Investigators piecing together the evidence, determined that Fermin Gallegos shot his wife and family dog. They say he made the 911 call then shot himself following a marital dispute.
