SAN ANTONIO -- The girlfriend of Bill Hall, Jr. broke her silence Wednesday, nearly a week after the prominent San Antonio businessman was hit and killed while riding a motorcycle in southwest Bexar County.
Bonnie Contreras, 31, spoke exclusively with KENS 5.
Bexar County Sheriff's Office investigators said Frances Hall, 50, intentionally hit her husband while driving a Cadillac Escalade and also tried to injure Contreras. Hall has been charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
A lot of memories were made. I miss him so much. My life will never will be the same without him, ever, ever, ever, ever, said Contreras.
The incident took place Oct. 10 on southbound Loop 1604 near Macdona-Lacoste Road around 7 p.m. Contreras said Frances beat Bill up the day before the deadly crash after he told her he was going to live with Contreras permanently.
The Halls were in the process of trying to get a divorce but had not filed formal, according to investigators.
She [Francis] knew deep in her heart Bill was in love with me, Contreras said.
The pair had picked up Bill's belongings at a storage unit on Braun Road near Loop 1604 and were on their way to Bill's cousin's house when Frances intercepted them.
I don't know how she knew we were on that road, Contreras said.
According to the Bexar County's Sheriff's Office, Frances slammed her SUV into Bonnie's SUV several times, forcing her into oncoming traffic near Macdona-Lacoste Road.
I was scared, I was scared. I was even more scared when I saw her hit Bill and she didn't stop. That's what scared me even more, she said.
Contreras returned to the scene but wasn't allowed near Bill as he fought for his life.
According to Bexar County pretrial services, Frances has been placed on full house arrest, and can only leave her home for court appearances, to meet with her attorney or for medical emergencies.
Contreras said she has been asked by some of Bill's family to stay away from the funeral and burial this weekend, partly because Frances has gotten permission from a judge to attend the services while under house arrest.
Contreras said she plans to attend anyway.
He was taken away from me. He was taken away from the rest of his family from his kids. I don't know how she feels about this. I don't know how she can live with herself.
