SAN ANTONIO — The most terrifying time of the year is here, and if you're a lover of all things spooky, eerie and ominous, we've got you covered for ways to celebrate around San Antonio.
Below we've complied a list of Halloween events and attractions sprinkled in and around the Alamo City to tickle your scary bone.
Haunted houses
The world-famous 13th Floor Haunted House is back for a 15th year of terror. The haunted house is located at 1203 East Commerce Street and will be scaring bold-hearted people through Nov. 9.
Six Flags Fright Fest / Boo Fest also has a slew of themed haunted houses themed around the "Conjuring" and "Stranger Things" franchises, as well as several shows, events and attractions even younger members of the family can enjoy. The fun lasts until Nov. 3.
SeaWorld has transformed the peaceful park we all know and love into something eerie for their Howl-O-Scream extravaganza. The attraction features six free haunted houses, eight "Terror-tories" and plenty of bars and entertainment. Ride some coasters at night, if you dare. A word of warning from SeaWorld: At 7 p.m. the park's scare level will increase to levels not recommended for children under the age of 13.
A zoo favorite returns
Families can also visit the San Antonio Zoo for their annual Zoo Boo. This not-as-terrifying event runs until Oct. 31 and will include free trick-or-treating, pumpkin spice, entertainment and large animatronic bugs that the family can interact with.
Other attractions, from downtown to the Hill Country
Ripley's Nightmare at the Wax Museum is a horror lover's dream. Visitors can enjoy a night of two haunted houses, and an immersive scary movie in their 4D theater.
The dates include: Oct. 12, 19, 26 and 31. It will cost $35.99 for the whole experience. Can you survive the night, or will you wish it was all a bad dream?
Nightmare at Owl Creek Farm is back with the scariest haunted maze you'll find in San Antonio. As the sun sets, event-goers will attempt to make it through a spine-chilling maze that has twists and surprises around every corner. The maze is designed for the bravest souls and will continue until Halloween night.
Natural Bridge Caverns Bat Fest is a free family-friendly event that will run every weekend in October, including free trick-or-treating on Oct. 26 and 27.
Sisters Grimm Ghost Tours includes San Antonio's first Ghost Bus Tour that takes attendees into a world of ghosts and terrifying histories. There is also a Haunted History Ghost Walk that guides you on a spooky journey to San Antonio's most haunted locations.
Botanical Gardens Happy Frights / Haunting Nights has something for everyone. Happy Freights begins at 5 p.m. and includes a fun trick-or-treating experience for the entire family. Haunting Nights begins at 8 p.m. and will include a maze, scarecrows coming to life in the Sunflower Field and much more. Haunting Nights is recommended for guests ages 13 and up.
Feel the chills down your spine as you come to face to face with the Dollmaker and his creations at the Night of the Living Dolls haunted house. The house will be haunting San Antonians on Friday and Saturday nights through Nov. 1 with creepy dolls and ghost.
The Tower of the Americas will be hosting its own Halloween Bash on Oct. 25 from 7-11 p.m. The spooktacular evening will be a free family-friendly event with live music, food, activities for kids and a pumpkin carving contest.
