BOERNE, Texas — Three people are dead following a head-on crash in Kendall County Tuesday evening that had Highway 46 closed for several hours.

It happened in the 500 block of State Highway 46 West near Boerne.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and deputies with Kendall County were on the scene of what they say was a head-on crash between two vehicles.

Troopers say a Ford F-250 crashed head-on with a Toyota Corolla. The 58-year-old driver of the F-250, identified as Carl Sidney Galm, was taken to University Hospital with injuries. All three people that were in the Corolla were pronounced dead at the scene. 50-year-old Roger Louis Waid, 53-year-old Patricia Ann Waid, and 14-year-old Blake Lynn Waid were all pronounced deceased at the scene.

Blake's siblings sent KENS 5 a statement regarding the accident:

We are devastated beyond words at the unimaginable loss of our parents and beloved little sister. They were our world, and the shock of their sudden departure is something we cannot yet process. We want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has reached out, offering love, comfort, and support during this tragic time. While we are heartbroken and grieving, we ask that our privacy be respected as we try to find the strength to navigate life without them.
