SAN ANTONIO — SAISD officials said Thursday a "lockout" at Highlands High School has been lifted and the all-clear was given.
The high school was placed on lockdown earlier in the day, but SAISD officials said school officers transitioned it to a lockout at some point later. Lockout means that all students and staff remain safely inside and the school operates in a normal manner, but no individuals are allowed to enter the building unless designated by the principal.
There is no word on what led up to the lockdown and lockout. A text provided by parents from the school district said shots were fired in the area.
Again, SAISD officials said the lockout was lifted and school operations have resumed as normal.
