SAN ANTONIO — A local hotel with a pop-up holiday-themed tavern is giving people a chance to help kids in need while enjoying the new feature.
The Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa introduced its Tinsel Taven holiday lounge this season. The holiday pop-up is in the newly renovated Cactus Oak Tavern and features over-the-top holiday decor, weekly festive activities and holiday-themed beverages.
The tavern is also gathering toys for children in need through Toys for Tots. Any gues who donates a new, unwrapped toy will recieve a complimentary draft beer or hot chocolate at the lounge.
Additionally, the lounge is hosting activities like holiday trivia, ugly Christmas sweater karaoke, golf cart drive-in Christmas movie screenings, a holiday paint & sip class, holiday party-themed murder mystery events, ornament making kits and more.
The resort is also hosting “S’mores with Santa” events on some weekends, which allows families to meet and greet with Santa and Mrs. Claus, take photos and roast their own smores in the hotel's oversized fire place.
