Homeless man found shot in foot did not tell police how it happened

He was taken to University Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

SAN ANTONIO — Police are investigating after a homeless man was found shot in the foot on the northwest side early Monday morning.

San Antonio Police responded to the 100 block of De Chantle Road near Fredericksburg Road just before 1 a.m. for reports of a shooting.

Officers tell us the man came out from a ditch behind an apartment complex on De Chantle Road and told them he had been shot in the foot, but did not tell officer how or why it happened.

He was taken to University Hospital and is expected to recover.

Police are still investigating.
