Video: Woman hit, killed by HPD SUV while crossing Antoine Drive with her daughter

Houston police released multiple videos of a crash on Antoine Drive in September that left Desire Pool dead.

HOUSTON — On Wednesday, Houston police released dashcam and bodycam video of a deadly crash that happened a couple of months ago on the northwest side.

The crash happened on Sept. 19 just before 10 p.m. along Antoine Drive near the Pinemont Drive intersection.

According to police, two officers were northbound on Antione taking an arrested suspect to the processing center when their SUV struck Desire Pool, 41, who was standing in the roadway -- not in a crosswalk.

Witnesses told investigators that Pool had just exited a bus and was not in a crosswalk as she crossed the street. She appeared to drop something and they said she was hit when she bent down to grab it.

Police said the officers stopped to help Pool, who was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead.

The woman was with her daughter and a family friend at the time. No one else was injured.

WARNING: The video released by the Houston Police Department could be disturbing for some to watch. It shows the moment the woman was hit and also includes strong language.

HPD released multiple videos of the crash on Wednesday.

In the dashcam video, multiple people were seen in the street just before the impact. Just before Pool was hit, multiple people were seen jumping out of the way.

A passenger in the patrol car shouts expletives in shock. The passenger asks, "You didn't see them?"

"No," said the driver of the patrol car, who was identified in the body-worn camera video as "Officer Kennedy." Officer Kennedy calls for help as another officer performs CPR on Pool.

"CPR in progress," shouts an officer identified as "Rosales."

"CPR in progress!" Officer Rosales shouts again. "Say it!"

"CPR in progress," Officer Kennedy says into the radio.

In another video, someone at the scene can be heard saying, "My mom! Y'all killed my mom!"

A child kneels next to Pool and takes her hand, saying "Mama, do not die on me."

"Come on, pray, pray," the child said.

Officer Rosales continues to perform CPR and asks Pool to breathe.

Pool was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Houston police said Pool was walking with her daughter and a family friend. A child and a young man refer to Pool as "mom" in the body-worn camera video.

Houston police said the investigation into the crash is ongoing but they don't believe speed was a factor.  HPD confirmed that the officers were back on duty, but the investigation was still pending.
