SAN ANTONIO — A federal drug bust lands a suspected gang member behind bars and stops a potential shooting in the process, officials say.
Agents with Homeland Security Investigations arrested 28-year-old My'lik Kerley last Wednesday.
According to court documents, he agreed to a trade one pound of methamphetamine for an assault rifle with undercover agents.
Investigators say he planned on using that gun in a shooting in San Antonio. Documents say agents witnessed Kerley buying the drugs off of someone else.
When agents tried arresting him, he reportedly ran off and forced his way into a nearby home.
He's due in court on Wednesday.
