Man charged after police say he kidnapped his girlfriend and threatened to kill her

Officers say they were able to confirm the attack through video footage from the gas station.

SAN ANTONIO — A man is charged for allegedly kidnapping his girlfriend and threatening to kill her, according to San Antonio Police.

Police identified the man as 41-year-old Charles Lindgren, who is accused of abducting his girlfriend and restraining her inside his home on March 31, according to the arrest warrant.

The document says that same day he forced the woman inside a car and drove to a gas station where the threats continued.

Once Lindgren fueled up she escaped while running into a convenience store bathroom and waited until she thought police arrived at the scene, the document says. Lindgren tried to force her back in the car when officers arrived on the scene.

Officers say they were able to confirm the attack through video footage from the gas station.

Lindgren remains in the Bexar County Jail on a $90,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is set on May 10.

According to online court records, Lindgren has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 2022 with charges including burglary, theft and terroristic threats.
