AUSTIN, Texas — Officials are investigating after a dead body was found near the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center on Thursday afternoon.
An official with the wildflower center said the body was discovered by a staff member during an inspection. The staff member then contacted police, who responded to the urgent "check welfare" call.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found the body showed signs of decomposition. APD said at this time, foul play is not suspected and this is not being investigated as a homicide.
The death investigation remains active and ongoing.
