Lanier High School investigates alleged inappropriate relationship between student and staff member

School officials received a report about the alleged inappropriate relationship and a letter was sent to parents addressing the incident.

SAN ANTONIO — A Lanier High School staff member is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student, officials say.

School officials received a report about the alleged inappropriate relationship and a letter was sent to parents addressing the incident from the school principal Dr. Rick Flores.

The individual is no longer on campus, Flores said.

He also says that SAISD is cooperating with the police investigation and will report all findings to the Texas Education Agency.

The staff member was not identified in the letter.

District officials say they take allegations of this nature extremely serious.

According to the letter sent to parents SAISD school officials are communicating with the student and the student's family, "to ensure they receive the support and care they need."

"The physical and emotional safety of our students is our utmost priority, and we will always act to protect those in our care," Flores said.

No other information was provided.

This is a developing story.
