Officials say a large cat was spotted near Highway 16 in Helotes recently.
Deputies with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office were dispatched for the reported sighting of a large, long-tailed cat in a greenbelt near the 10400 block of Foxen Way in far North Bexar County. The cat was seen inside a subdivision located off of Highway 16 North.
A homeowner reported seeing what appeared to be a large long-tailed, dark-colored cat behind her home in the greenbelt area. Deputies conducted a thorough check of the area, but were unable to locate the reported large cat.
BCSO urges residents in the area to remain vigilant and exercise caution near this area. In addition, be cautious of outdoor pets, and consider keeping them inside during this time. Make sure that children are supervised when playing outdoors.
