SAN ANTONIO — An on-duty deputy crashed into a civilian vehicle in the Medical Center on Tuesday night, according to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.
Officials with BCSO said it happened a little after 7:30 p.m. They said the deputy was driving south on Merton Minter when a civilian driver on Melrose Holmgreen pulled out into the intersection where the car was T-boned by the deputy. Both the deputy and the civilian were taken to the hospital to be checked out, but BCSO said injuries were minor and both were responsive.
BCSO said the civilian driver had a stop sign, and they don't believe the driver made sure the intersection was clear before they entered it. Photos showed damage to the rear driver's side and bumper of the civilian vehicle, which appeared to have jumped the curb and hit a tree.
An investigation is underway.
