SAN ANTONIO — A 53-year-old female inmate has died after she was found unresponsive in the Bexar County jail just two days after she was booked, according to BCSO.
Officials say the inmate was found around 9:10 a.m. Friday by a unit deputy conducting face-to-face observation checks. The deputy immediately called for help and began performing CPR.
The unidentified inmate was pronounced dead at 9:42 a.m., BCSO says.
Officials say it appeared the inmate suffered some sort of medical episode, but an official cause of death has not been determined.
This is the fifth inmate death at the Bexar County jail so far this year.
