SAN ANTONIO — An investigation is underway and many questions are still unanswered after authorities say a welfare check resulted in a fatal shooting involving law enforcement in Bandera County.
County officials say sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call for gunfire around 11 a.m. Friday at an unspecified location. According to authorities, a 68-year-old man died from injuries sustained in the incident.
But officials have not said what led up to the shooting. It's also unknown how many law enforcement personnel, if any, discharged their weapons, nor if the man was armed.
He also has not yet been identified.
The Texas Rangers are leading the investigation, a Bandera County spokesperson said.
