SAN ANTONIO — A nearly three-year search for the person who allegedly killed a San Antonio-area cab driver in early 2019 came to an end this week after a man was taken into custody.
Windcrest Police Lt. Daniel Hernandez said Baldemar Hinojoza was arrested on San Antonio's west side Friday, on charges of capital murder.
"It feels good to get somebody off the streets who took somebody else's life," Hernandez said. "We're hoping to bring some closure and justice to the family."
According to arrest records, a lengthy investigation led authorities to Hinojoza, now accused in the death of Aadam Xirsi, an African immigrant and Yellow Cab driver who was found shot in the parking lot of a Windcrest thrift store just before dawn on Jan. 17, 2019. He was soon pronounced dead by first responders.
