POLICE: Texas man arrested after Taco Bell employee killed, vehicle stolen during robbery

The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

LONGVIEW, Texas — Police say a man has been arrested after a Taco Bell employee was killed and a vehicle was stolen Wednesday morning in Longview.

According to the Longview Police Department, around 12:40 a.m., officers were called to the Taco Bell, located at 2553 Judson Rd., on reports of a shooting. 

When police arrived on scene, they were told all the employees were outside while the power was out around the area.  

When the employees walked out, they said a person walked up and attempted to rob them. The suspect then shot one employee and stole a vehicle from the parking lot.

The stolen vehicle was found nearby and the victim died at the scene. 

On Thursday, police arrested Brent Leslie DeLuca, 31, of Gilmer, for capital murder. DeLuca was taken into custody without incident.
