SAN ANTONIO — A man standing another trial for a 2016 double murder was found not guilty by a jury, the 227th District Court confirmed Tuesday.
41-year-old Luis Arroyo was accused of killing two people and injuring another person after an argument about cigarettes in 2016. His case had been ruled a mistrial in 2018.
Arroyo was also one of three inmates who escaped the jail in March 2018. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office said the group escaped through a jail window using bed sheets and a female accomplice picked them up in a car. They were captured at a Sonic fast food restaurant. He was found guilty of the escape and sentenced to 99 years in prison.
