SAN ANTONIO — Video shows a robber going into a restaurant and holding workers at gunpoint.
The robbery happened Friday night, and Police Chief Richie Priest is hoping you can help catch this crook.
Just after 10 p.m. on September 27, Lytle Police say a man armed with a gun walked into the Subway on McDonald Street, demanding money from an employee.
"He said, 'Give me your money or I'll shoot you,'” said Priest.
Chief Priest describes the moment the man seen on surveillance video walked into the Subway restaurant.
“A single male came in. Described as a white male, maybe 5' 8" in his 30's. He had tattoos on his arms and a triangular shaped tattoo on its face. He demanded money from the clerk,” said Priest.
Priest says the worker didn't quite understand what the suspect said so she asked him again. That's when he reportedly threatened her.
“He pulls out a handgun, a black semiautomatic handgun, she tells us and tells investigators that she was pretty sure it was a BB gun. She actually saw the BB's rolling around in the slot,” said Priest.
The suspect made off with a small amount of cash. One of the workers followed him, but the suspect took off.
"It appears he was in a black Ford Fusion, probably about a 2006 to 2012, and it was missing the left front hubcap or wheel cover,” said Priest.
Priest says this type of crime, where a handgun is used in a robbery is not very common in Lytle, so they are asking for the public's help to find the suspect.
“We'd like to get them to call our non-emergency number, they can leave a message at (830) 709-0277," he said.
The investigator is David Sergeant David Lopez, you can e-mail him at David.lopez@lytletx.org.
Priest says if you want to remain anonymous, you can contact the Atascosa County Crime Stoppers at 830-769-2255.
