Major closure at I-10 and Loop 1604 expected to cause delays this weekend

The highway closure starts at Vance Jackson until La Cantera Parkway.

SAN ANTONIO — A major traffic closure on the northwest side of San Antonio is expected to cause delays in the area this weekend.

Starting at 9 p.m. Friday, Jan 26, Loop 1604 and I-10 near the Rim will be closed for construction on the Loop 1604 expansion project.

For Loop 1604 drivers, the highway closure starts at Vance Jackson and goes though La Cantera Parkway. Meanwhile, UTSA Boulevard to La Cantera Parkway will be shut down along I-10.

Drivers will be rerouted on service roads to navigate the closure.

The closures are expected to last until 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, as long as the weather is good. Law enforcement will direct traffic during the closure. Expect long delays if you are in the area this weekend.
