SAN ANTONIO — According to an arrest affidavit, one man was arrested Wednesday afternoon for allegedly murdering a man found dead in the road last month.
The man arrested has been identified as 18-year-old, Joseph David Melgar-Hernandez and is accused to be in connection with the death of Damion Franklin.
Franklin was found lying face down on the access road of Highway 151 on Dec. 20.
Police say his iPhone crash detection alerted emergency officials to the scene.
According to the arrest affidavit, Franklin's phone revealed he was texting with the suspect and met up at a food mart before the shooting.
Police say phone records and surveillance footage allowed officials to tie Melgar-Hernandez to the murder.
