A computer tech at the Best Buy at La Cantera helped uncover child porn on a customer’s computer, according to police.
Police say back in October, a member of the Best Buy “Geek Squad” was helping a customer, 71-year-old Robert Louis Batze. Police say Batze requested data from his external hard drive be transferred to a new hard drive Batze was purchasing.
During that process, the computer tech reported to police he saw thumbnails of photos he believed to be child porn.
Investigators say they ended up finding more than 2,200 images of child porn on Batze’s computer.
He faces charges of possession of child pornography.
