Man dead following drive-by shooting on south side

Witnesses say the suspect drove away in the silver vehicle with two passengers inside immediately following the shooting.

SAN ANTONIO — A man is dead following what police say was a drive-by shooting on the south side of San Antonio.

San Antonio Police responded to the 100 block of Emerald Ash near Pleasanton Road just before 11 p.m. Monday for reports of a shooting in progress.

Police say a man in his 20s was talking to someone in the parking lot of some apartments when a suspect in a silver vehicle drove by and fired off multiple rounds. The victim was hit in his torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses say the suspect drove away in the silver vehicle with two passengers inside immediately following the shooting.

Homicide detectives will be investigating.

This is a developing story.
