Man detained by police after being accused of stabbing his neighbor during early morning fight

According to police, the man was threatening the victim's wife at their west-side duplex earlier in the night.

SAN ANTONIO — A man has been detained by police after he was accused of stabbing his neighbor during an early morning fight at their duplex on the west side of town.

San Antonio Police responded to the 2500 block of West Commerce near South Zarzamora Street around 3:42 a.m. Tuesday for reports of a stabbing.

According to police, the suspect was threatening the victim's wife at their duplex earlier in the night. The couple went to the store and when they returned, they found the door to their duplex had been kicked in by somebody. The neighbor came outside and a fight started.

Police say the suspect stabbed his neighbor, a man in his 30s. He was taken to University Hospital with a stab wound to his body.

The suspect was detained by police, then taken to the hospital as well. No word on his injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation.
