SAN ANTONIO — A man has fatally shot his nephew in the back yard of a west-side home early Tuesday morning, according to police.
San Antonio Police responded to the 1700 block of Laven Drive near Benrus Drive and Culebra Road around 7:24 a.m. for reports of a shooting in progress.
When officers arrived at the location, they found Kian Johnson, 43, with a single gunshot wound in the backyard of the home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Barry Moore, 59, the man's uncle, was standing out front when the officers arrived. He told police that some sort of altercation took place between him and his nephew.
Moore has been detained by police and is being booked on murder charges.
