Man found dead on side of highway, officials say

A TxDOT driver made the shocking discovery early Sunday morning.

SAN ANTONIO — A Texas Department of Transportation driver made a shocking discovery after a fatal crash on the northwest side early Sunday morning.

According to San Antonio Police, the HERO driver saw the crashed truck on the main lanes of I-10 West near Huebner just after 3 a.m.

The Highway Emergency Response Operator (HERO) driver then found a man lying on the other side of the highway and called police.

Investigators are still trying to figure out how the truck crashed, but they believe the man was thrown from the truck when it happened.

Police say the man died on the scene.

The freeway was shut down for a few hours while officers investigated what caused the crash.
